Sustainability

We are proud of our conservation and sustainability. We farm organically at The Bairnkine and are inspected regularly by The Soil Association. Our water supply is from our own springs and serves our own home, farm and other cottages in the area. We have solar panels at our own home and the holiday cottages. We grow barley to feed our cattle.  We sell our oats to a mill less than 12 miles away to be sold as organic porridge oats. We have planted over 40,000 trees and over 5km of hedges.

We are proud to be working towards the Green Tourism Bronze Award.
