Hands-on experience

Oatcake Making on the Farm

The experience

Traditional oatcakes, made by hand

Step onto our organic family farm and discover the tradition of oatcake making in the heart of the countryside. This relaxed, hands-on experience shows you how we make traditional oatcakes from scratch.

You’ll mix your own oatcakes while we share the story of our farm, our family and how we care for the land using organic methods. While yours are cooking, you’ll taste Lucy’s oatcakes with some Scottish cheese and chutney.

Come for the food, stay for the story, and experience a little piece of farm life with our family.

What’s included

Highlights

Not a workshop. A family tradition.

This isn’t a staged workshop or a demonstration. Oatcake making has been part of our family life for generations, and we share it in the place where it naturally belongs: a real working farm, with real stories, traditions and rhythms of the countryside.

There’s a slower, more meaningful pace to your time here. Away from busy schedules and screens, you’re invited to enjoy something simple and grounding: making food by hand, connecting with the land, and taking a moment to appreciate where food truly comes from.
